Every purchase helps someone affected by leprosy
Bonita and Sunitra are great friends who share a make-shift hut in an isolated leprosy colony in India. Both ladies have been widowed, and they walk nearly six kilometres every day to beg for food.
They would dearly love a home of their own with a roof that doesn’t leak and walls that are not crumbling away. The stability of having their own home might mean they will be able to keep chickens for eggs and grow their own vegetables.
Alongside the Indian Government, The Leprosy Mission is currently building new homes in their forgotten leprosy colony. With your generosity, Sunitra and Bonita and other members of the village will soon be able to enjoy a watertight roof over their heads. Each home costs £4,000 but the Indian Government are paying £1,500 of this cost, which just leaves £2,500 to be found.

Bonita and sunitra's story
Bonita and Sunitra are great friends who were forced out of their village when they were diagnosed with leprosy. They now share a make-shift hut in an isolated leprosy colony. Their ‘house’ is not fit for purpose; the roof leaks and the walls are
crumbling away. Sadly, both ladies have been widowed, and they have no money to improve their home. Every day, they walk nearly six kilometres just to beg for food.
A new secure home will make it easier for Sunitra and Bonita to keep chickens for eggs and to grow their own vegetables. There are many people impacted by leprosy who desperately need a roof over their head and their own front door. This gift will give another family, currently living in ultra poor conditions, a safe home and a fresh start.
