KASHI'S STORY
Kashi Nath was diagnosed with leprosy as a small child, banned from school and made to sleep in a cattle shelter. When Kashi eventually arrived at Anandaban Hospital in Nepal, aged 11, he soon felt at home.
Once he was cured, he decided to stay and train to be a nurse. He has now been there for over 30 years and the patients affectionately call him ‘Kashi Uncle’. He is an expert bandager with heaps of compassion. He completely understands how his patients feel and shows them that it’s possible to live life to the full after treatment. Your gift will train another nurse in the skills that are vital for nursing leprosy patients.
