The Leprosy Mission in India offers a wide range of vocational courses to become a Tailor, Bank Clerk, Computer Programmer, Electrician, Mechanic, Nursery Assistant, Welder and other careers. These government-recognised courses focus on providing students with hands-on instruction, which leads to a diploma or certificate.
Your gift will give a student affected by leprosy the opportunity to start to transform their future. If, wonderfully, the project’s costs have already been covered, your gift will be used to fund similar vital work. Thank you for helping to eradicate this disease once and for all.

Vinothini's Story
20-year old Vinothini is a recent graduate from the tailoring course. ‘My Mum is affected by leprosy and life is very hard for my family. I have not had many opportunities because of poverty and discrimination.
Happily, The Leprosy Mission gave me a place on their training programme to learn sewing and tailoring. My mum was ecstatic when I graduated with one of the highest grades in India. I am now working for one of the most prestigious companies in the industry in Chennai. In a few years I plan to set up my own boutique.
Young people from families affected by leprosy have the same potential as others. But sadly they don’t have the same opportunities. Poverty means they often can’t afford to pay for education or training. This gift will change the life of a young person affected by leprosy.
