Muzaffarpur Hospital has been serving leprosy patients for many years, but now the walls are crumbling and there are holes in the roof. The Outpatient Department is most especially in need of rebuilding as it’s no longer fit for purpose. Elderly, disabled, leprosy-affected patients often travel hundreds of miles to visit the hospital, but then they have to queue for several hours in the stifling heat, under a corrugated plastic awning, to be seen.
